Consolidated manufactures two styles of grinding wheels for popular automatic edge polishing machines such as the Park Pro-Edge and the Comandulli. The Cartwheel style wheel has a ring of diamond on the outer rim with diamond spokes running inward to a second smaller ring. The Cartwheel was designed to rapidly grind the edge of the stone. The Conform style wheel has a continuous diamond rim with water slots. The Conform style can be provided with either a Narrow (1/2”) rim or a Wide (1”) rim. The Cartwheel style is more aggressive than the Conform style, however, the Conform wheel with a Wide rim will produce a better finish. After roughing the edge most operators switch to a series of flexible resin pads to finish the the edge. The problem with the resin pads is they wear out quickly. Our recommendation would be to use a Cartwheel style for roughing followed by a Wide rim Conform wheel in medium and fine grits for the next two steps. The rest of the polishing could then be done with the resin polishing pads.

The edge grinding wheels can be manufactured with either a female threaded hole or with a Snail-lock adapter. The snail lock allows you to quickly change wheels from one grit size to another. If you need a special adapter for your machine, we would gladly manufacture the wheels to fit your machine.
