Consolidated Ogee Polishing Sets can shape and polishing granite in only five steps. The standard ogee is 20mm, but can also be used on 30mm and 40mm thick stone. The Amerogee is a special “blended ogee” which does not penetrate as deeply in the stone as a standard ogee. This means they are faster grinding, yet gives an edge detail that is attractive and easier to polish. The Amerogee can be raised up and used on 20mm stone as well as 30mm and 40mm stone.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING OGEE POLISHING SETS

(ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES AND PROPER SAFETY GEAR.)

Use water for all steps. The polishing bits will be damaged if used dry. Make sure your router is in good working order. Small vibrations due to poor bearing condition will effect the polish.

Break the corners off the stone before using POS 1.[See Consolidated Prod # 20041]  The flat side of the stone must be smooth. Saw marks can damage the polishing bits. Use all five positions. Do not skip a step. The ogee router bits have the proper infeed built into them. You should not have to adjust your machine after each position. Just take off one bit and put on the next without adjustment. This is very important because the polishing bits can be easily damaged if the infeed is too great. When polishing, travel across the piece at a stead rate don’t go too slow.

For best results use 4000-10000 RPM for POS1,2 and 3 and 4000-6000 RPM for POS 4 and 5. In any event, do not exceed 10,000 RPM with any of these router bits. Inspect each bit after use. Do not use a bit that has been damaged or has signs of unusual wear. Pos 4 and 5 can be used without a bearing. Best results are obtained if a bearing is used.
